Sharjah is famous for its beautiful souks, old and new. The Central Souk on King Faisal road offers a look into the retail history of the nation. Old school shopping outlets and restaurants compete for your business. Bargain hunters can explore the myriad handicraft shops, which stock everything from carpets and antiques to Arabic jewellery, onyx and semi precious stones.
The souq itself was designed by British architects under the guidance of the ruler of Sharjah His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi. With an area of around 80,000sqm, you’ll have access to more than 600 shops, selling gold, jewelry, perfumes and souvenirs as well as electronics, clothing and cosmetics.
