Once you reach, it’s your chance to hear about the unique cultural heritage of the pearling industry, understand the historical evolution, and discover the underwater treasures. The National Museum of Ras Al Khaimah

Serving as a residence for the ruling Quwasim family until the year 1964, the museum is home to exhibits, which showcase the historical, archaeological significance of the emirate through the years. The museum also has an ethnographic section, which showcases the cultural traditions of the emirate, including pearl diving, date growing and farming.

Dhayah Fort 

Another historical landmark in Ras Al Khaimah that not just offers historical value but also is an excellent viewpoint of Ras Al Khaimah. Built during the 19th century, the Dhayah fort, located in the Bay of Dhayah is known for its fertile area and has been known to have settlements since the third millennium. Today, the Dhayah Fort is the only hilltop fort in existence in the UAE, and it offers a fantastic view of the lush palm gardens below along with the sea and the mountains that surround it.

Al Jazeera Al Hamra

Popularly known as the ‘ghost town’ of Ras Al Khaimah, this deserted village was once home to a thriving community involved in pearl fishing. Al Jazeera Al Hamra, built in the 14th century holds a significant amount of history. Wander around this town at your own will as you can take an unguided tour of the village. Explore the structures, which were made using coral stones and mud. The village has remnants of its fishing culture present with a traditional dhow left in the center of the village and even an old 4×4 parked for years, which highlighted the wealth of pearl fishermen. A hidden gem in the emirate, explore it before it turns into a tourist hotspot!

Hidden Oasis

Looking for an adventure? Then consider checking out the hidden oasis in Ras Al Khaimah! This natural wonder isn’t accessible by road, but only through foot! The hidden oasis is a luscious green plain of land in the middle of the mountains. To get there one must hike for up to 6 hours. A mix of a well managed to a steep trail; expect to see small villages, and old settlements leading up the dry oasis. The hike is best during the winter season when the air is cooler and better.
